An Intimate Look at the Man Behind Facebook

Robert Scoble, Blogger extraordinaire, has this great post about his recent conversation with Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Facebook, at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

If you’re even slightly interested in the phenomenon that is Facebook (and that’s whether you love the site or don’t get it), I’d strongly encourage you to read it.

Forget the typical article syou’re read about him in Forbes, Business Week or the Wall Street Journal for example, Scoble has as much of a heart to heart with Mark as anyone has to date. He describes a shy (if you didn’t know that already) young guy who doesn’t do well in front of the camera but who is extremely intelligent and indeed deserves the fanfare/hype. And Robert points out his adept social graces when speaking with world leaders at a Newsweek gathering; amazing for a early twenty-something (Bill Gates would probably admit he didn't have this ability at such a young age).

Last, I agree with Robert and I don’t think he wrote this as a fawning, fan-boy post to everything Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg. It’s truly the most intimate look at the person behind one of the most famous web/tech companies of this decade.
