Lessons Learned
I learned two important lessons this past weekend at the wedding that I need to apply to my life in general, from my personal to my business life:
- Seize the opportunity- no I'm talking about standing up when the reverend asks if there are any objections and proclaiming your secret love for the bride
- Fight for what you believe- life is too short and punctuated with too few opportunities to not stand up for what you think is right or for what is yours
The reasons why these lessons struck me this past weekend are numerous but less important than ensuring I start living these creeds. I'm using the feelings of disappointment to fuel the fire and keep me motivated. At the gym last night, I used that disappointment as energy for a solid 2hr workout. Going forward, I'll be making decisions with these two lessons thoroughly ingrained in my mind.
UPDATE: Thanks to Justin for his comment and here's a song for that drive from Lake Geneva back to the Milwaukee airport:
Cat Power- I Found a Reason (discovered this from that Hillman Curtis short I posted on in May)
